THINE EYES BLEED: 'It Is Time To Move On To Bigger And Better Things'
June 11, 2007Canadian thrashers THINE EYES BLEED — who feature in their ranks former KITTIE guitarist/technician Jeff Phillips and bassist Johnny Araya (brother of SLAYER's Tom Araya — recently spent three weeks at Beach Road Studio in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada with producer Seigfried Meier recording their sophomore album. "We finished up in the studio and got the whole thing mastered and ready to go," the band writes on its MySpace page. "And you know what? It's heavy. We are also going through some changes here. Yes, it is time to move on to bigger and better things, if you know what I mean.
"Last year was awesome! The Unholy Alliance with SLAYER, LAMB OF GOD, MASTODON, CHILDREN OF BODOM... SOULFLY, SIX FEET UNDER... some great touring and some great bands. You figure someone would have taken advantage of the hype and publicity to keep us on the road. But that wasn't the case. So we severed the ties that were holding us back, hit the studio and recorded ten brutal tracks instead.
"A lot of you have been asking when are we gonna tour again. To be honest with y'all, we don't know. We are currently setting up an East Coast run of Canada for August (on our own of course),and if all goes well, a U.S. tour. All we can do is push and move forward and with your help, the fans, we can do it."
A brand new THINE EYES BLEED song, recorded live in Sweden last fall during the European leg of SLAYER's "Unholy Alliance Tour: Preaching to the Perverted" tour (where THINE EYES BLEED was the opening act),has been posted on the band's MySpace page. Check out the track "The Dragon" at this location.
THINE EYES BLEED last year re-released their 2005 debut for The End Records, entitled "In the Wake of Separation". The CD now includes the bonus track "Better off Dead" (previously available only in Japan) and the video for "Cold Victim".
